Physio Acupuncture

Physio Acupuncture

Is the procedure of inserting and manipulating fine needles into the body, primarily to relieve pain.

Acupuncture is used by Physiotherapists and has a large background of scientific evidence. Acupuncture promotes the body’s natural pain relieving systems and healing processes in order to aid and enhance your rehabilitation.

Physiotherapists are trained in both ‘Traditional Chinese’ approach and a more ‘Western’ approach to this treatment modality, specific techniques such as ‘Trigger Point’ acupuncture are also used to facilitate relaxation in specific muscles.

Acupuncture needles used are of different lengths according to the area of body they will be inserted into, but are all fine, sterilized and disposable. The needles may be left in-situ for a few minutes up to a maximum of 30 minutes during any treatment.
